Birthday Crown Giveaway Winner & Busy In The Studio

Hello sweet friends~I hope that you are having a great week! Hopefully over the weekend I will have some time to visit you, as Mr. Fufu will be out of town so I should have more time for that. I am going to be in the Shabbyfufu Studio quite a bit though, working on many projects laid out and a couple of special orders to finish up. I really look forward to the quiet studio days, classical music playing from my Sirrius Satellite Radio and the glorious South Florida weather while it lasts.

Using a random integer generator, there is a winner for the Birthday Crown Giveaway. There were only 18 ladies who left a blog comment and then another 21 who left a comment through the website for a total of 39. The winner is # 3, who is a blogger and a real sweetheart...Tracie of My Petite Maison. Since you are a customer as well, I have your address Tracie and will email you if I don't hear from you soon. Congrats!

My birthday was very quiet and relaxing, especially since it fell in the middle of the week. Not much fuss, cards, emails, calls from those dear to my heart....and a lovely watch from Mr Fufu with PINK Swarovski crystals (he knows my favorite color after all of these years!). I really don't need or want anything and I did instruct him with NO CHOCOLATE, so this was sweet:-).

A relaxing couple of hours at this great spa and some window shopping in the beautiful mall where it's located. Sooooo Florida here....don't you think?

Will talk to you soon~thank you for reading my post, and stop in to say hi anytime:-)

Soakin' It All In

Silly me, I can't believe that I am posting two days in a row~lol! Just sitting down to print out some shipping labels and trying to get caught up. If you are a Shabbyfufu customer who is waiting for a package, I apologize profusely that we are backed up and behind and will be playing catch up in the next day or two.

I don't normally have much time for the local tag, yard, garage sales these days...but this past Saturday morning Mr. Fufu and I made a quick trip to one of the neighborhoods here that does a massive group sale. Actually we were looking for a few items that he had in mind, and some things for our older daughter who has just set up her first little cottage. You know how when you are looking for certain things you just don't find them, but I came across a couple of good finds that I wanted to share with you.

This antique stained glass window is a real beauty, and it's not easy to find one in the oval shape! The colors are perfect for a beach cottage, so it's going along with us to our little beach home. I am sure that we can find a spot for this $25 purchase!

I was uber excited to happen upon this sale early on, a former children's clothing maker who was now retired and had TONS and TONS of vintage lace, buttons, rhinestones, vintage millinery, name it and she had it! I only purchased a small portion of her stock, as I am not greedy and wanted to leave some for the other dedicated buyers that were following along just behind me. I am soakin' loads of lace today in a solution of Biz, as I don't mind some Patina....but some of this stuff needs a good soak. I can't wait to use it on my projects...especially the pretty pale pink lace:-).

Gotta get back to work, enjoy your week!

Deer In The Headlights

Truly feeling like a confused deer in the headlights today, as Mr. Fufu and I have been working on my taxes to get everything ready to send to our accountant. I HATE accounting, would much rather be this has been something I have been putting off as long as possible. I figured that today was the day, as last night I walked barefoot into a step down in our house going at full speed as usual and stubbed my toe so bad that I couldn't stand on it. Sitting was a better option and hopefully will be back at it tomorrow.

A quick SHOPPE update that the Sweet Spring Boutique at Shabbyfufu has just opened for the Season with some darling things created in the Studio, so "hop on over" and "take a peep" if you can!
Lots of other new things will be posted later in the week...after my 35th (Just Kidding!) birthday. I have a Spa appt at the Elemis here in Miami that day and can't wait for some pampering!

There is still time to enter the CROWN Giveaway....until Weds. You can enter by either leaving a comment on the blog or using the Contact Us page on the Website.

Have a great week!

Studio Inspiration And A Birthday Giveaway For You

My blogging has gone by the wayside as of late with all going on around here, but I wanted to pop in and thank you for still looking!

We have been going out of town almost every weekend, but this past one we stuck around, as these cutie patooties were in town for a visit (our older daughter and her guy).

She is quite the photographer, and I wanted to share a few photos that she took of the King of our home, Murphy. He is an older guy at 7 years, and lovin' this cooler weather and playing in the yard.

As for my website, I have been listing some of the vintage pieces found on all of the recent trips we been taking....and I haven't had a chance to post about them as they mostly have been sold:-). I still have a stash to list, but have been itching to work on projects. It's a lifelong DISEASE and the only way I know of to scratch it is to work on the pieces that are the things of my dreams. My artsy friends know what I mean! More about my projects later.

It's my birthday on Feb 25th, and I have a gift for you.

I am very appreciative of the many blessings in my life and am sure that Mr. Fufu will have me feeling like a Queen For The Day next Weds. So, I thought that I would do a giveaway to all of the other queens out there in Bloglandia and offer this Vintage Style French Inspired CROWN for this giveaway. All that you have to do to enter is to leave a comment here, or through the Contact Us page on my Website.

The winner will be drawn on my random, but if you want FIVE chances to win then post this Giveaway on YOUR BLOG with a link back to MY BLOG. Simple enough...good luck~this is a GORGEOUS piece (rhinestones and patina galore!) that we have sold many of on the Website and you can see by clicking on this photo:

Back to the Studio Inspiration.... I was so happy to find loads of wonderful old ephemera on our excursions and have been scanning up a storm. Mostly what I found were gorgeous images of antique ladies, antique French images, and the best old French paper dolls. Careful steaming to get some of these out of their scrapbooks has been finished, and now the originals will be better stored for future use. I made some more of the boxes that were featured a few months ago in Romantic Homes Magazine, and framed some in pretty vintage buying trip frames.

I haven't had a chance to work on my Bottle Dolls since way before of the projects that I so enjoy! Also managed to finish up a Vintage Millinery Dress Form that will be posted today

Have a great week and stop in to say hi!
~xoxo~ Janet

Vintage Vixen ~ On The Road Again

These weekends spent away have really been taking me away from my Studio, but I have been enjoying spending quality time pursuing some of the other things that I enjoy and WILL BE BACK at it soon enough. We have been meeting up with some of our dealer/friends that we have gotten to know over the many years of being in the antique and collectible business, as they are all down here in the South right now escaping the cold weather that seems to be EVERYWHERE else. I really am a Vintage Vixen at heart....and the shopping has been enjoyable and worthwhile. I have found some killer vintage things that little by little have been added to Shabbyfufu, and lots of much needed supplies to restock my Studio with. I have plenty now, and will be sharing some with you....soon to come on the website:

Gorgeous millinery flowers. Old, new and everything in between.

I was so happy to come upon this humongous lot of antique silk ribbon and purchased the entire lot. It's old store stock, unused....and does need to be painted/dyed. I can't wait to see how it looks when finished!

Another lot of vintage glove molds and these are really the BEST that I have had to offer over the years. They are the very tall and slender women's size 6 1/2, and came out of a now closed cotton mill in Georgia. They are listed for sale on the website, and you can click on the photo to find them.

Lots of vintage and antique....some has already been sold and more will be posted soon.
I need to cut this post short, as we leave AGAIN tomorrow morning for more! I hope that you stay warm my friends, and take good care. COME ON DOWN to Florida, where you can see beautiful sunrises over the beach like this one

And ride with the top down and catch a gentle breeze
