Where I Create, Something New

Hello friends....should I tell you that it's still in the 80's here in South Florida and that you can all come down for a visit!?!

Not sure that I picked the best time to do this, but I have taken over one of the rooms in our house vacated by one of our young adult daughters ~ and have been moving my studio into it. The light is quite good in that room with two corner windows and it's promises to be a better art studio, especially for sewing. In fact, Santa is bringing me a new serger and some other sewing accessories....and I can't wait to get in and create! It's a work in progress that I will reveal later (with tips:-) doubt well after the first of the year. We have lived in this house for 20 years now, and although it's not a castle or mansion by any stretch, we love living here. It is always a work in progress that has it's own rich life story, both the good and the not so good. Same with your homes I am sure........

Sneaky peek, my usual colors of pale pinks, whites, and faded grey....and of course, fufu

Well that's it for today....just popping in to say hi and I will talk to you soon!

Have a beautiful day~

Valentines Day In December

Valentines Day you ask.....sheeesh, it's not even Christmas yet! I know, I know..... but since I received my advance copy of the new Romantic Country Magazine Valentine issue a couple of weeks ago I have been meaning to mention it in a blog post and well, you know how it goes at this time of year!! Anyway, my regular copy came in the mail today and I am assuming that most of you will have your copy soon if you don't already. Fifi did a beautiful job with the issue, and there is loads to see that will inspire you in so many ways.

I am proud as a peacock to have been invited to do a tutorial for you and I think that you will enjoy this Sweet and Simple craft.

I made these little art boxes last year and sold quite a few on the website, and now simple instructions have been provided for you to create your own. I really do need to go through those old lesson plans from teaching and see what else I can come up with, and hopefully will get some more tutorials up on the blog soon!
I don't get into drama but just one thing that I feel needs mentioning. I have heard a lot of talk lately on the web about people copying other's work and original ideas for profit. It's just not nice, simply not ethical, and the web is a small community and eventually people do find out. I have had it happen to me on several occasions (yes, I now know about the Ebay seller) and am not usually even aware of it until my on~line friends let me know! respectful as you would want others to b
e towards you. As for tutorials, whether written on someone's blog or in a magazine....they are written and provided for personal use only and not to be made for resale.

Gushing and blushing here that the website at Shabbyfufu had also been mention
ed a couple of other times with some products that are available (yes, I know....please excuse the plugs:-), one is this GORGEOUS hand painted roses porcelain atomizer by our artist in residence Farnaz Farzad who is such an AMAZING and talented china painter! Her pieces are VERY affordable too, and I never would have thought of using a perfume atomizer for linen spray. Leave it to Fifi to come up with that idea!

I was asked for some samples from our Pastelle Paperie quite awhile ago, and what was chosen for this issue are the pretty tags showcased below. At times we carry various artists pieces in the Paperie, including my own digitally collaged creations....but these were NOT done by me. Full credit is given to my lovely Aussie friend Gail McCormack, who has generously shared some of her work with me for Shabbyfufu. If you have time to visit her wonderful WEBSITE, please do pop over and see what she has and you can visit her blog HERE as well! I also wanted to mention that the pretty French style plates that you see next to the tags are available from my sweet friend Tracie at her My Petite Maison shop HERE.

I do thank you for coming over to visit, I know how busy everyone is at this time of year! Wishing you a very happy and blessed holiday season and I will be back with another post very soon.
Lots of love from tropical Miami, where we wear our Santa hats while lounging by the pool and sip Pina Colada instead of Eggnog!

Beautiful Romantic Christmas Home Decorating~It's All In The Details

Happy weekend sweet friends, blog surfers and Shabbyfufu customers! How are you going to be spending this weekend? Are you decorating for the holidays, as I am....and perhaps in need of some additional inspiration? I think that you just might find some in this post if your style leans to the romantic! My lovely friend and long time Shabbyfufu customer Annamarie Florio had emailed me this week with a link to her on line albums of GORGEOUS home decor photos. A former Florida (Boca...She sells under Bocarose on Ebay) resident, Annamarie recently moved to North Carolina and does not have a blog, so I wanted to share these photos with you. Surely you will be inspired.... here are just some of her home and vignettes. It's all in the details!

Lovely Annamarie and her handsome hubby at their daughter's wedding

While I am on the subject of friends, I would be remiss if I didn't mention that a couple of weeks ago I was up at the Renninger's Antique Extravaganza in Mt Dora and ran into quite a few sweet ladies that you may know......especially two of our favorite Kims!

The darling Kim McCole of Dear Daisy Cottage. Kim had written articles on my home for Romantic Country Magazine so we have chatted before and I was so happy to have finally met her in person. She is such a dear!

Kim Ryan of Paris Rags had a booth that was so yummy, filled with her fabulous clothing & accessories creations....of which I did make a purchase! Myself and the beautiful mother/daughter team of Kim and Micayla.

Have an inspiring weekend ladies....and if you have a chance to come over to the website at SHABBYFUFU, we are running a FREE SHIPPING promotion on many of our itesm~especially from our talented artisans!

Romantic Christmas Vignettes & Romantic Country Magazine News

Hello dear friends and blog surfers across the globe! I was just going through some of the photos in my computer files this evening, and thought that I would post some of the photos from the Romantic Country Magazine Holiday issue with my home decor and also from the Romantic Homes Magazine Holiday issue with my home decor as well. Actually I am not even sure that these particular photos made it in to either magazine, so before I say bye bye to they are. I hope that you garner some inspiration for your decorating, which is always the purpose of these articles!
