Published Work...A Shabby Chic Home, Photography, Styling, Art and Encouragment

Today I'm sharing my latest shoot that is published in Shabby Style magazine over in France. It's always a complete thrill to see my photography published and this home is a lovely oasis of feminine shabby style over on the west coast of Florida. I wish to thank Doreen Rinaldi~Lane for inviting me into her home....as it was truly a pleasure! She has just started an Etsy shop called Romantic Rose Studio that you can visit HERE, where she sells her rose paintings and textiles.

Here are some scaled down pages from the issue that is available at this time only in France...

On another quick note....I have been involved in one form or another of art for as long as I can remember. As a child I took art classes because I loved to paint and draw and in High School gravitated toward art and was encouraged by some wonderful teachers. Eventually I was voted as "best female artist" in the graduating class (yes, a bit sexist...but times were different way back then, lol) and went on to study art in college. After college I did go on to study art in some post grad classes, but didn't finish that out...getting married after awhile instead. I taught for awhile and just found this throwback amongst some old papers (my maiden name)...

...which got me thinking that I can't really choose which medium I like best!
I've done it all from ceramics (major) to photography to weaving, painting, drawing, etc.
As life goes on....I've kind of gotten away from these pursuits with the business of raising a family, my work life and my creating for the website...and now my growing photographic body of work. I'm aiming to get some of this back and find more time to slow down and enjoy...

There have been encouraging people and moments, which I am so grateful for...and they do outweigh the negatives and the naysayers.
So THANK YOU for those supportive people out there and I'd like to encourage others to FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS!

I think the best way is to take a class at a community college! You'll get in touch with your art again whether it is through a pottery class, painting class, mixed media class or whatever is available! Your blog is always beautiful and inspiring!
