Texture Layered On In The Bedrooom For Fall

Hello!

Before I get to the decorating portion of this post I want share a couple of projects that I just finished on in the studio...
A custom teacup candelabra for a wedding (and beyond:-)
A fresh batch of our Nighteas™for a client's shop
Now to the decorating! In my previous post I shared how I added a bit of Autumn into the dining room by creating some vignettes with my signature
pastel tones. Today I worked on our master bedroom, which really wasn't in my plans, but it has been storming and so I changed to this "plan B" on my list of "to do's"!

I often receive emails asking what the interior paint is in our home, so I thought that I'd mention here on the blog that the color is Benjamin Moore Dove White. It's pretty white with just the slightest hint of a grey tone.

The floor is porcelain tile and although at the time we built this room onto the house as an addition I wanted wood floors, I could NOT get my husband to budge. As it turns out we need to take out the floor because the house has settled and the tile is cracking, and when we have the time and funds will be replacing with the wood that I have always wanted. Why he doesn't listen to me in the first place I'll never know! In the mean time the tile is nicely hidden by the large vintage Aubusson rug that is Marie Antoinette~esque...
Lots of white, the tufted headboard is several years old and has held up amazingly well. Don't be afraid of white!
Texture is all important when decorating with white. The aged full length mirror is newer and one of most popular blog tutorials is a DIY on my take on aging mirrors...
I collect old clocks and have many, though the stained paper on this one make it a favorite with one more element of texture...
There is a TV in that cabinet but I can't remember the last time that we watched it...
Some Autumn touches on the mantel which is faux and was torn out of an old home in the area...
Fresh flowers, an old clock face, white Sweet Sweater Pumpkins™ by Deb Kennedy of Homeward Found Decor...
I adore this old caned chair with the faded to perfection teal mohair velvet tufted back. Chunky throw from Pottery Barn...
So many pillows are never too many...
Dried hydrangeas from last year in a thrift store vase sit in front of a sweet vintage statue and an alabaster lamp with ruffled shade that I made...
Petticoat hanging from the ceiling...
Antique rosaries that I found in France and an antique wedding crown from that same brocante expedition...
A vintage wicker sewing basket with old paint and missing lid, found for just a couple of dollars...
The beads here are not a rosary...can you guess what they are? Mini styrofoam balls found at a yard sale that I painted and strung...
Texture..all important in a room with neutrals and white.

Have an inspiring week my friends, and please come visit the website, SHABBYFUFU on FACEBOOK, TWITTER and on INSTAGRAM (daily posts)

Janet

An your bedroom is beautiful. I love everything. Do you remember where you purchased your bed? What type of fabric is the headboard? I see a lot of these on line but yours looks so nice. The curtains, rug ,bedding, and lampshade are lovely.

Beautiful autumn bedroom-you is amazing stylist!!!
We are in the hall and dining room and kitchen tiles also given, but exactly how do you write your house " sits " and some pieces of cracked tiles,so you also want to slowly replace the floor.
Have a nice day!!!

Thank you Donna! I purchased the headboard about 5 yrs ago at JCPENNY & it's white denim. Not sure that would still carry it, but I've seen many others since then

All of your photos are gorgeous! The styrofoam balls look like similar to cranberries for a Christmas tree. I would have never guessed they weren't a real necklace!
