White Decorating...Beautiful Color Or Lack Of

I have always loved white decor and the sense of peace that it brings to a home. Is it lack of color...or is it a color in itself? Wikipedia defines white as "the color of fresh milk or snow". I love that. "It is the color produced by reflection...
Transmission or emission of all wavelengths of visible light without absorption. White is the opposite of black and often represents light in contrast with darkness."

In my home, white is kind on the eye and allows for ease of seasonal transformation.

It makes my accent colors pop, whether they be grey....as in winter.

Or aqua, as I mix year round in the dining area that opens out to the pool and reflects the blue waters.

It brings out the shine in the many vintage chandeliers used throughout my home.

And serves as a clean palette backdrop or a blank slate for my ever present florals.

I have been asked many times for the name of the wall color that is in our home, which is Benjamin Moore White Dove

Have a great week...more posts coming your way this week

I too am a lover of white, I have heard our home described as "vanilla pudding"....but not so, they just were not looking at it with my eyes.

What a great description of white--I love white too. I recently put a dark slipcover on my couch that I have had--it is not me. Going back to the white!
