Five in Five...Easy Room Changes In Five Minutes

A little bit of color in five minutes...

Since we redid the flooring recently in our master bedroom, I have been going for a cleaner look with less clutter. It makes it easy to add just a few choice pieces at whim, which I often do at the start of the new week! Today I'm sharing the quickest DIY ever on how to add five simple touches in literally five minutes for a romantic clutter free style in the bedroom...
A friend dropped by for a visit this morning and brought me the chippy vintage shabby shelf above. Perfect...I need a spot for storing extra pillows in the bedroom. Love friends that know my style well! This would be my tip #1...move furniture around and try and shop your own home. If you just look around you'll be surprised at how a piece looks different if you move it to another room...
I brought in one of my authentic French cafe chairs to balance out the shelf and will fill the shelf with some linens soon...
That empty mantel now has some fresh pink roses displayed, as I thought that this week I'd add a bit of pink to the room. Tip #2...fresh flowers add so much to a room and simple displays are often the most dramatic...
Another corner...
My quiet corner for reading gets a pop of color with this vintage canvas sea painting just tacked to the wall. #3...no big commitments in adding artwork if you just prop up or tack, but another big impact piece...
I love white linens and my tip #4 would be adding pillows to introduce a shade of your choice or perhaps a style that you wouldn't want to overdo, but just add a small touch...
And in dressing the bed...#5 would be throws or blankets. I'm going with pale pink this week and found a pair of old eiderdowns in my linen closet, so tossed one at the foot of the bed. Great for an afternoon nap!...
Challenge yourself to add just a few new touches to give your own room a new look. I'll be posting more five minute changes soon...

xoxo,

Everything looks so wonderful in your new room. I love the less cluttered look and seem to start off with it when redoing a room, but slowly it seems to always fill up again. I just love too many things, I guess:-)

I recently went with a white & blue look in the bedroom. With white quilts, I can dress the bed in different colored pillows when I want a change.

I am in love with your sweet little French chair. I am adding that to my list of "must find".

Your bedroom looks lovely.

It's looking so beautiful, Janet! I think summer brings out the "declutter" bug in all of us. It's time for me to do that here, too. :) I love the pink/white combo and that eiderdown is sooo pretty! Bet you're thrilled to have a bed to sleep in again, aren't you? lol
