Easy All American Mantel For The 4th Of July…Thinking COLOR

I’m always excited when the 4th of July rolls around for the patriotic celebrations that are based around celebrating our country’s independence! So many great memories of parades, fireworks and being at the beach with the kids when they were little. This year is easy and…

simple in decor around the home and of course based around the colors of our flag in red, white and blue…

It all started with flowers found at the market, in this case white and blue hued hydrangeas. All of the additional objects pulled in are iconic American pieces that I’ve collected over the years, like a favorite large U.S. made vintage ironstone pitcher…
A large vintage trophy cup that is decorative enough to hold it’s own with a single American flag…
And another that is filled with vintage ribbon in shades of red, white and blue…
Tattered old books in deep blue whose subject matter is America. I love these for display and elevating a vignette to new levels…
Silver glittered stars and vintage white buttons scattered about…
An all American milkglass pierced plate is nestled inside of a vintage frame painted white and sits behind yet another trophy cup filled with classic old white buttons…
And you might be wondering about the banner…right? Easy as pie project that I whipped up by just looking around the studio…
The bases are vintage Christmas reflectors picked up years ago at a yard sale. I always pick up inexpensive materials such as these when I find them…for use later on. Glittered cardboard letters have been hot glued over the reflectors and then all are hot glued to the red stripe ribbon…
I’ve used only what I had on hand and spent nothing…thinking COLOR…
Have a wonderful week ahead…

Janet, what a fantastic 4th of July Mantel! I love the vintage trophies. Something that I have had my eye out for some time. Haven't run across any yet. I too pick up Christmas reflectors and use them in craft projects. I love them in your banner! Old books, Ah! Happy 4th!
    hugs,
