Greening Up...A Sweet Summer Room

You are used to seeing lots of pretty florals in my home, but I wanted to share how just a few things brought in from the outside can give life to a room for spring and summer...
especially when you start with a predominantly white room such as our living room...

I took inspiration from the vintage French syphons on the mantel for the colorful addition of plants, and propped up a couple of large vintage clamshells as well...

Next came a trio of vintage nesting tables that are usually outside and some plants from the patio as well...


I do NOT have a green thumb and my daughter is the plant expert in our home...

I whipped up a few pillows for the sofa from some vintage ticking stripe fabric that I had been hoarding...

cottage style living room summer

My old French grey garden gates make the perfect backdrop for some plants on these vintage columns and plant stand. You can use anything that gives some varied height to display plants and I love to work in trios...

So there you have it...simple greenery from the garden or plants from your favorite nursery, a few pieces from the patio brought inside and you've got an easy change for a sweet summer room...
