Visiting The Beach and Painting It

This past weekend my husband and I spent over on Sanibel Island, where we had some business to conduct. It inspired me, as the beach...
tends to do whenever I'm there...

Ever since I've known my husband we have been going to the island, as his parents had a place there since I believe the late 1970's. We love Sanibel, but it's been discovered by the masses and was quite crowded on this visit. The photo above is an iPhone shot that I took at the simultaneous sunset and moon rise, and the colors are unedited...

If you recall I made a large beach painting a couple of weeks back that I talked about HERE and ever since I've had the urge to do a few more on a smaller scale...

The colors of the sea and the sky in Florida are always amazing, especially in the Spring...

I tried to incorporate texture and the soft shabby chic colors that a simple painting can enhance when added to a room...

Wow...there's a ton more people there than when we were there, Janet. I've never seen so many people on that beach! I'm glad that you had a wonderful holiday there. There's no place like "home", huh? .... ♥

Your paintings are so sweetly shabby Sanibel! Love them!

We're only 10 minutes from Sanibel but we only go once all the snowbirds have gone home! How lucky you are to have been able to experience it in its quieter days. Love your paintings, the colors are gorgeous:)
