The Home and Studio Of French Artist Laurence Amelie
The artist at work adding some extra touches that her eye noticed were needed..
Paintings in various stages of completion in her light filled studio…
Laurence is a lovely and private person, and in keeping with that my words will be few, but glimpses abundant…
She is known for her most original tutu paintings that many emulate but truly cannot duplicate with her uniquely layered style…
It was so interesting seeing the process as she explained it to me…
We spent the afternoon chatting in her stunning centuries old stone home. The painting over the sofa is by Ubaldo, a talented painter that is outgoing and animated. A juxtaposition of styles and personalities that make for a perfect match…
In the kitchen…
Simple French farmhouse style that is elegant in that simplicity…
A trio of chandeliers hangs over the table…
Simple entertaining…
Garden florals and Laurence loves to mix them in with faux as well…
Wow, how amazing that you were able to visit her home! It seems like such a romantic lifestyle, living in an old farmhouse and painting all day…lovely! Thank you for sharing:)
Wow, what luck! I was searching for her paintings on line last week (I would have been happy with a print), having enjoyed seeing them in Rachel Ashwell's shops and on line. And when visiting Cabin & Cottage today, I followed a link back to your page, which I have also visited often. I am envious that you got to see her create in person. Her art is just amazing. I want them all! It's my style, too.

I started painting furniture with chalk paint about 2 years ago and now I’m learning to paint, abstract style which I have a passion for. I just learned about Laurence Amelie through my amazing art teacher, Carrie Clayden, and I’m over the moon with love and appreciation for her wonderfully whimsical and beautiful style. I’m completely inspired and find painting an escape from this sometimes challenging world climate we all live in. Art gives me hope. Thank you so much for sharing your visit with Laurence Amelie.
I’m so glad that you found the post and it was an honor for me to be invited into her beautiful home. Happy painting!
