HGTV Dream Home 2016 Tour
Last week I had the exciting opportunity to visit the HGTV Dream Home 2016 courtesy of Delta Faucet. Since I live in Florida myself it was particularly interesting to see what fellow Floridian designer Brian Patrick Flynn did with this fabulous tropical home.
Last week I had the exciting opportunity to visit the HGTV Dream Home 2016 courtesy of Delta Faucet. Since I live in Florida myself it was particularly interesting to see what fellow Floridian designer Brian Patrick Flynn did with this fabulous tropical home.
Today I’ll be taking you on a little tour of the home and you’ll get to see much more when HGTV reveals the home soon on their channel. You can also find out more about the HGTV Dream Home 2016 in Merritt Island, Florida on the HGTV website. This is the 20th HGTV Dream Home and the first that is a remodeled residence, as opposed to new construction. Right up my alley, since this is what our own family business has done for the past 29 years…
I was with two other bloggers and the Delta Faucet PR rep who managed to convince me to join in on the helicopter ride over Merritt Island. Fun (not scary)!
In typical Florida fashion, the driveway leading up to the home is lined by stately Royal Palm trees, which truly give you that ahhhh feeling of relaxation Florida style as you drive in. The vehicle parked out in front is part of the giveaway, so be sure to enter and check out the details!
Pavers from Belgard bring curb appeal to the front entry and other areas, bringing them to life…
Attention to detail was everything in designing this total remodel, and the white picket fencing landscaped by bougainvillea was just one of many exterior touches that brought cottage charm…
In speaking to the builder, the 3,100 sq ft home was taken down to the rafters and beautifully reborn with an open concept floor plan. The hardwood floors from Lumber Liquidators bring in tons of reflective light!
Bloggers, company representatives and HGTV’ers mixing and mingling in this wonderful space…
The home is two story and I wanted you to get an idea of the layout and roomy appeal so rather than a lot of detail shots I chose to focus on rooms. This is taken from the staircase and by the way there was NO light on that gloomy, rainy day for photos so the quality may not be my best…
Looking into the living room from the dining room is one of my FAVORITE decorative pieces by the talented designer Brian Patrick Flynn. He took a vintage black and white photo of local surfers and had it blown up to ginormous proportions and printed to bus vinyl. Then it was adhered to the wall that you see. Genius!
The furniture is all from Ethan Allen, as well as the decorative accessories and lighting…
In the dining room that is open to the living room you can see the surfer art and a view of the pool/patio that I’ll show you shortly…
All of the paint on both the interior and the exterior are from Glidden Paint and I’m pretty much in love with the lower level color called Quiet Rain…
And then the kitchen with so many swoonworthy details! The tile backsplash went all the way up to the ceiling, the pendant lights with the reflective metallic interiors, the Cabinets To Go textured doors and the stunning Delta Faucet with Touch 2o Technology…
Just as chandeliers and lighting are jewels of rooms, so are beautiful plumbing fixtures…and I want to share a couple more Delta Faucets from the HGTV Dream Home with you before we continue to tour the home.
Tub filler that I’m thinking I may need for my master bathroom is a work of art…
Downstairs there are two bedrooms and this one was my favorite with the Jen Weld French doors leading to the pool area. The blues are perfect and all of the rooms are filled with their own distinctive touches, such as the tarnished silver platters on the headboard wall in this one and the antique wood birthing chair used for towels!
Brian chose a fun terra cotta color for the walls in this guest bedroom, along with artwork by fellow HGTV designer David Bromstad…
The media room located right off the kitchen is just so fun and bright and perfect for family movies and popcorn!
Blue penny tile in one of the downstairs baths…
Coastal colors that have an almost retro vibe in this powder room…
Funky laundry room decor with a surfing vibe and the designer mentioned how he loves to make a home that he stages look “lived in”…
The master bedroom is located upstairs and has a distinctive island feel with the Glidden paint in Thai Teal…
My favorite room in the house, the master bathroom. THIS TUB! The chandelier! The party shower!
Speaking of parties…wouldn’t it be awesome to party here?
I took loads of photos outside, but at the risk of crashing your computer I’m going to cut it short…
But not until I share the outdoor shower…
And the matching dog house complete with Trex decking like the dock…
With the boat for the winner of the dream home…
And the signs that pay homage to former HGTV Dream Homes from years past…
This home will belong to one lucky winner soon, and for more information on the home and how to enter…visit here…
This post was sponsored by the awesome Delta Faucet but all opinions are my own.
