I’m always looking for a little bit of color to accent with and today as I set up the table for a little gathering this weekend once again a cake is what got me going! Truth be told I didn’t bake this one, but I did bake
this one. You may notice…
that there is a slice missing, and we did enjoy a couple of slices last weekend. I put the rest of the cake in the freezer in a sealed container and figure that we can enjoy some more this weekend when I pre~slice it up for guests to enjoy. Slicing a cake and serving buffet style and they will not know that you’ve taken a taste test beforehand is something that I’ve done on more than one occasion:~}}
I added a few roses to the top and purchased the cake plain at my local market…
A paper tassel garland always adds a festive touch and I hung this one on the mirror in the dining room. It got the coveted young adult seal of approval from my daughter who stopped by and wanted to grab it for her space…
The dining room table is rustic and most of the time I don’t use a tablecloth for practical purposes. For this weekend I have it set with what is actually a duvet cover and it works to soften it up. We have a full DIY on
building a farmhouse table if you are up to a weekend project…
Hello…the price of roses is ridiculous this week so I didn’t purchase any. Instead I went with some dried eucalyptus and other dried florals that I keep in my studio and created a table garland…
And at the end of the table I have some flowering branches in soft pink that are faux and look pretty realistic…
Mixed and matched with new and old, my Limoges service and my white everyday dinner plates…
A few fun things for Valentine’s Day decorating that I wanted to share and you can use these year round {unlike my half eaten cake~}}
