How 3 Free Things Can Make A Room

were free when I had the pleasure of helping a client clean out her mother's estate awhile ago, and no one else saw the possibilities when we had everything for sale. Happy dance for me when I see things and find pieces that are in my vision to use for styling and would otherwise go to the neverland of being tossed out...

Since we have been enjoying the last weeks of outdoor eating and entertaining as the dreaded humidity of spring and summer is already creeping into South Florida I used those free pots as my muse. Simple with blue and white and the flowers are a compilation of leftovers from a couple of weeks of grocery store shopping.

I set the table with white ruffle placemats, vintage plates and wine glasses and blue toned drinking glasses...all creating a soft pastel blue and white theme.

Orchid pots are generally squat shaped as these are, so I trimmed the flowers short. I then cut up flower foam and soaked it for a few minutes and set the blooms inside. Really easy, just creating a nice shape with what I had...

Admittedly luck was on my side with these pots, but if you keep your eyes wide open you can find great pieces on sale...and we all love to shop!
