french farmhouse style tips
I have always been enamored with the casual elegance of French country or French farmhouse style.  A home can be centuries old or a loft in the city and take on French flair by carefully adding and editing.

I love the look of softly muted colors, worn and rustic tones with layers of imperfection.

French farmhouse kitchen of artist Laurence Amelie
From the home of French artist Laurence Amelie. Her kitchen is rustic with a touch of elegance and is the essence of her true French farmhouse life. The dining table is long enough to fit many guests and family and is made of reclaimed wood. I’ve done a little “digging” and found a couple of new rustic wood tables that give the French farmhouse look that I truly love.

Round tables are practical for smaller rooms to grandiose parlors and something about the way that you face your guests invites conversation. You can find this particular table HERE and it’s the one that we have in our beach home breakfast nook. It’s priced at around $350 and perfect for this room!
French farmhouse style tablescape is complete with dark wood chairs with white linen cushions, a beautiful pink flower centerpiece and beautiful wooden farmhouse dining table.
And the chairs…as you can see this style is popular not only in an authentic French house in the country but in my own beach home. Timeless style crosses the globe and will be in style for years to come! Find a similar chair HERE and HERE.
These French farmhouse style chandeliers are made with bright crystal and hang above a beautiful floral tablescape.

Hanging from the ceiling beams in this old French farmhouse is a trio of glitzy beaded chandeliers. Gorgeous and I love how the crystals juxtapose the rustic wood of the beams, the table and the chairs.

This wooden chandelier is the epitome of French farmhouse style - it holds candles instead of lightbulbs and is a true antique!
In another home that I had the pleasure of shooting in the French countryside I fell in love with this old wood chandelier! It holds candles, as with age it could not be rewired and is so full of charm…

This new chandelier is a favorite…elegant and not at all over the top. Very affordable too, so find it HERE.
A French farmhouse style mantel display; marble fireplace, brass candelabras and an intricate white wood mirror with a stunning hand-carved wooden frame.
Mirrors are something not only practical and functional in French homes, but often decadent and over the top with carvings and details. The GORGEOUS mirror in this home is simply propped on top and is an antique that had been painted grey.

This is my favorite mirror of the moment and the one that’s now in my dining room (5 foot version). You’ll find it HERE.
