High Point Market Tour – Day One Inspiration

Kenian Home rattan
Hi friends! I’ve fallen a little behind on blogging over the course of the last week with travels and other events. So today I’m going to make it up to you and share some of what I had the pleasure of seeing at High Point Market with the Design Bloggers Tour for the last few days…
Let’s start with something that is close to my tropical loving heart {you know….Miami girl here:~}} and that would be rattan! There was plenty of it and…

at Kenian they specialize in just that with an updated look. They have taken rattan and wicker to a whole new level, pairing painted pieces with the natural colors of the innate nature of the product…

Hello!…you wanted to come home to Miami with me didn’t you gorgeous étagère?!! You don’t need the tropics to design a room with these pieces, and I have seen so many homes that mix in just a chair or table to create a breezy relaxed look…

Next I’m taking you over to Vaughn-Bassett for some Made In America goodness…

I like that, and they take pride in being a long time family based business that employs over 700 people and practices sustainability. There is even going to be a television series coming soon on HBO about them called The Factory Man starring Tom Hanks. How cool is that?!

modern canopy bed

Ahhhh Bernhardt! Elegant and refined pieces with curated collections of upholstered pieces and casegoods in stunning fabrics and finishes…

This canopy bed is truly spectacular and the only problem being that it wouldn’t fit in my suitcase:~}}

Their showroom was filled with lots of greys and mixed finishes in the metals, which is spot on with my own aesthetic of mixing and mingling silvers, golds, and brass. The industrial shelving has a uncommon and exclusive shape and I might mention too that the seating was some of the most comfortable that I tried amongst the showrooms at HPMKT…

Fabulous dresser that has a damask padded front…

quatrefoil on furniture

Quatrefoil detailing is “a thing” and a thing that is not likely to go away anytime soon and Bernhardt designers have done it so well on table bases, cabinet fronts, mirrors and more…

These legs, the drawer pulls, the texture…they all have my eyes and brain saying “ahhhhhh”…

Comfort and beauty…hand in hand and Bernardt is a company with a history spanning over 125 years that to this day is still owned and run by family…

On to Hurtado for a tour of their traditional furniture line that is designed and crafted in Valencia, Spain. Many of the pieces featured intricate hand-crafted inlaid in timeless designs…

Finally on day one we had privilege of touring the AMAAAZING showroom of Ambella Home. I have to tell you that I was truly blown away by the beauty of their collections! Contemporary, stylish and artistically designed pieces that include upholstered items and hard-goods for every room in the home…

  2. So happy that you loved High Point…so much eye candy that it truly gets a bit overwhelming…such beautiful showrooms…and I love that rattan too!…Funny, my parents had rattan furniture…I used to live in Hialeah as a child for many years and at that time I hated the rattan…but now, I wish I had that vintage rattan!!!

  3. High Point seem like a fabulous place to visit. I'm loving the mixture of metals and textures in a lot of the pieces. I'm loving the clean look and ligh colort pieces.
