Confessions Of A Collector With A Simple Table Setting
That moment when I walked into the store when I was in High Point recently.
I spotted an entire shelf full of these mini vintage trophy cup and I confess, they had to be mine. Full of vintage goodness and patina, I really didn’t need them and already had a handful of vintage trophies sitting at home waiting for me. But I’m obsessed with certain things that speak of the past and I knew exactly how I’d be using them and mixing them with a new little secret…
I started today with a vintage French grainsack that I cut in half and ran it down the length of the table. I have quite a few of these and you can read how I COVERED MY FRENCH CHAIRS with some if you’d like (another obsession:-)
Then this yummy garland that is made out of leaves and glittered in gold. Although you could easily make one like this, I found it on a recent trip to Homegoods.
My SECRET? The dollar bin at Target where I always head first and found these buffalo check placemats in navy and white. That’s right…THE DOLLAR BIN and the “napkins” that are between the plates came from the dollar bin too…but they are dish towels.
My point is…mix it up! Look for beauty everywhere and think about how objects in your home stash can serve more than one purpose. Like my trophy cups…which will be used in another setting for Christmas soon.
I’m loving these vintage trophy cups filled with a single blush rose by each place setting. Candlelight with some inexpensive glass votives is always in style.
Although this is a Thanksgiving styling, it has a rustic and casual French feel to me. Down to earth with these traditional colors and buffalo check mixed with striped patterns.
Blue and white FOREVER…and I’m thankful to have you here today reading my post and gathering with the blog friends below.
I’ll be sharing perhaps my final tablescape for the season this Thursday, so stay tuned for that. HINT…it too will have VINTAGE. And….PSSST ~ Christmas is coming to the blog very soon with LOTS of inspo!
The Thoughts Of Home Stunning Thanksgiving Vignettes Tour is taking place all week long and I hope that you check in on my talented friends!
