How To Decorate A Room Beautifully With Blush Pink
Decorate a room with blush pink and you’ll have a fresh and beautiful look! It’s such a feminine and light color that can really add a sense of elegance to any room.
I have always loved the color pink and pretty much all shades of it have caught my designing eye at one time or another. Apparently designing a room with blush pink is now en vogue with the millennials, or so my daughters both tell me. Let’s see how to use that to your advantage!
If you’ve always wanted a blush pink room, here are some tips to make it happen.
Don’t decorate a room with blush pink entirely, but aim for a subtle touch. I was that girl who had the pink room growing up, but it was more of a Pepto Pink, and these days that’s a bit too much color for my taste.
Does blush pink go with Brown?
According to what people like, the two colors don’t go together very well at all. However, if you think they do, that accounts for a lot since you’re the one decorating your home.
What Color goes with blush pink decor?
White and silver are always popular choices to pair up with blush pink. If you’re decorating with pink, just think of other light colors that would accent them well. Light greens and blues could also pair up quite nicely.
Is blush and petal the same color?
They aren’t. Many people think that they are but blush is actually a tad bit darker in color than petal. Both are beautiful colors to entertain for home use.
What color curtains go with light pink walls?
Painting your walls light pink is always a good idea and a great choice for curtains is to go with a light grey color. They really pop but aren’t overbearing to the light pink color.
Is blush pink a neutral color?
While it’s technically not a neutral color, it does tend to have the same aspects of one. It’s a lighter color that doesn’t overpower and tends to go well with other colors for the most part.
You can easily use a blush pink in bedrooms or living rooms and it’s not going to be anything shocking or off-putting to anyone.

Back in the late 80’s I did over the living area of my home using a rose color. The one thing about having shades of pink is the way it makes you feel. Sitting in those rooms gave a happy feeling that was not there when the room had been done in a deep blue. While I love the blue and white that is so popular now, a decorator once cautioned me about the use of blue and how rooms in blue could be depressing. When I changed to shades of rose in the same space I understood what she meant. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a decor color more.
Pink can be such a relaxing color if done in small doses…indeed!
My daughter when she was a teenager had her bedroom redecorated in grey and blush. The wallpaper was grey and pink in a cat theme, her bed white wrought iron and wicker chair and dresser. The area rug was grey and bed linens blush with white eyelet pillows and.curtains. She loved that room and we had so much fun working together to decorate it.Now she has teenage daughters of her own.
In 1990, I had my home’s interior painted in the rose and dusty blue theme that was popular at the time. There was wallpaper in the diningroom that co-ordinated. My kids never let up calling our home the “girly nest”, and made it clear they felt like they were living in a “bubblegum bubble”. That made me swear I would NEVER introduce pink or blush into my decor again! Of course, I have learned so much from you about how to properly add color as an accent only, so now I am eager to introduce blush to my home again! I have a wing chair to add to my livingroom, and am in search of just the right pillows for my sectional. My diningroom is slightly offset from the livingroom, so I have purchased some material to recover the seats on my chairs. I am hoping the kids approve this time!
Just a bit of blush and I don’t think they will mind at all Odessa! Have a wonderful week…
I love the pink rug shown in the office with blush touches.
Please where can I purchase this rug? My bedroom is pink with 1 “accent” wall in gray.

This post is several years old, so i’m not sure it would still be available Angie
I LOVE blush pink and when we built our home in 1983 I had the entire house interior painted in it. You’re right, it was a great backdrop for everything and it was warm. Later, I went to the warm yellow that is still on the walls and I’m now trying to pick a great white to paint almost the entire house. It’s so funny, that it’s come full circle! I wouldn’t put blush pink on my walls now simply because I’ve been there, done that.
Also, the older we get, we just want fresh, clean looking everything in our homes, so white it is! The only exception I’m making to the white is in our newest guest suite that I’ve done in French blue, so I’m painting it a light, light blue that blends beautifully and says, “calm.” I’m now rethinking my laundry room as an even lighter shade of that blue rather than the white since I’ve had white forever in there.
It’s s funny how our tastes change over the years!
Thank you, Janet. It’s so nice to see some color in a room – and as you can see (and I can, too!) pink and blue will never go out of style. I have touches of pink in my master bedroom and , No, my husband is not a wimp. Our walls are green, and I have pink in my decor – in pillows, flowers, and pictures on the wall. Thank you for showing us that pink can be soft, yet a touch of class!
I’m so glad that you enjoyed this post Barbara and I have some pink here and there too (and a husband;-))!
What color is on the walls in the first picture please ?
